Segment Descriptions
Genesee Valley Greenway Mt. Bike Tour; Day 1
The Genesee Valley Greenway is an abandoned rail bed. The rail bed was built on top of a canal towpath. There are 100 miles of Greenway from near the Pennsylvania border to Rochester, NY. This 3-day trip was the fist time bicycles had been ridden from Cuba, NY to Rochester, NY on the Greenway trail.
Day 1; Bridge Crossing

Genesee Valley Greenway Mt. Bike Tour; Day 2.
This was the most spectacular section of the Greenway trail. The trail goes along the edge of the 500-foot deep gorge at Letchworth State Park. The multi-colored fall foliage, brilliant sunshine and cascading water of Upper and Middle falls in Letchworth added to the dream-like feel of this day's bike ride.
Day 2; Middle Falls

Genesee Valley Greenway Mt. Bike Tour; Day 3.
The third day of the trip was punctuated with the stark contrast from rural to urban areas. The day started with rolling hills, cows, and horses and finished in the square valleys of concrete and steel as we crossed Main Street in downtown Rochester, NY. The slow moving Genesee River at the start of our ride had steadily grown in size and strength to a raging torrent as it plummets over a stone shelf in the High Falls District of Rochester.
