Biking On Ice On Irondequoit Bay
During the summer time, my bikes are my main means of transportation. The onset of snow and cold in the wintertime in upstate New York forces cyclists into hibernation. In the winter I miss riding. So I came up with this idea: The New Years Bicycle Ride. This is the video from the very first New Years Bike ride to Irondequoit Bay.

New England Trip
In the summer of 1994 I lived in Seattle. I met Tom Richardson when he came to Seattle to visit some friends of his. I told Tom I lived in Upstate New York and he invited me to visit him in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Upon my return from Seattle in the fall of 1994, I packed some things, pointed my car east and headed off to the New England states. I drove my car to the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire and walked along a beach in Maine at sunrise.

Nick's Lake; Old Forge
Outside the town of Old Forge, N.Y. is a place called Nick's Lake. There is a path that completely encircles the small lake. The path has some very difficult and technical riding as the many roots, stones and steep inclines provide quite a challenge.

Ottawa Winterlude
The Rideau Canal runs through downtown Ottawa. For 2 weeks and 3 weekends in February, the Rideau Canal is the focus of a myriad of activities. More than 5 miles of ice on the canal is plowed clear of snow. At night water is sprayed on the canal so the ice is smooth each day. There are warming huts right on the canal, as well as food venders. The Winterlude activities include cross country ski races, ice skating races, snow sculptures and ice sculptures.

Poison Spider Mesa, Utah
Steve Smiley and I traveled to Utah in September of 1995 with the specific goal of doing some off-road bicycling. The area around Moab, Utah offers some spectacular scenery and there are many trails where mountain bikes can be ridden. Two of the more notable trials are the Slick Rock Trail and a trail on top of the Poison Spider Mesa.

Dead Or Alive Bike Video
Sometimes when I hear music, scenes will flash in my imagination. Occasionally the lyrics of a song will cause me to visualize scenery and events. When I heard the song called, "Wanted, Dead or Alive", by the band Bon Jovi, my mind's eye saw images of off road bicycling. This gave me some inspiration to produce a video that followed the story line of the lyrics of the song. Before departing on the cross-country trip in 1995, I wrote a script that described the video scenes I wanted to shoot. While on the trip, I shot the scenes I had scripted. Upon my return home from the trip, I created the "Dead or Alive" music video.
