Segment Descriptions
STP Bicycle Tour
(From show #3) The Seattle to Portland bicycle tour occurs each spring. The well-organized tour covers 200 miles in 2 days. The popularity of the annual ride has forced the organizers to limit participation to 10,000 riders. The festive atmosphere of the tour prompted some people to decorate their helmets or wear costumes during the bicycle journey.

The Bicycle Race
(From show #4) I had an idea for a fictitious bicycle race. I wrote a script, shot the video scenes, edited the video and added sound effects. The basic premise for "The Bicycle Race" is this: Two people agree to a race. During the race, one rider remains on the main roads and paved paths. The other rider takes a short cut and runs into some problems.

Dead Or Alive Bike Video
(From show #5) Sometimes when I hear music, scenes will flash in my imagination. Occasionally the lyrics of a song will cause me to visualize scenery and events. When I heard the song called, "Wanted, Dead or Alive", by the band Bon Jovi, my mind's eye saw images of off road bicycling. This gave me some inspiration to produce a video that followed the story line of the lyrics of the song. Before departing on the cross-country trip in 1995, I wrote a script that described the video scenes I wanted to shoot. While on the trip, I shot the scenes I had scripted. Upon my return home from the trip, I created the "Dead or Alive" music video.

Mt. St. Helens
(From show #1) Still classified as an active volcano, a climbing permit is required before climbing Mt. St. Helens. I wrote to the National Parks Service and received a climbing permit before heading to Mt. St. Helens in southern Washington State. At the top of St. Helens there is a view into the volcanic crater and the still smoldering lava dome. Looking over the lava dome from the edge of the crater, Spirit Lake and Mt. Rainier are visible. The 6 hour hike to the top of St. Helens and back travels through the rugged scenery 14 years after the May 18th 1980 eruption.
